"The Mighty Moe-Joes!"

Every now and then, a new band appears and proclaims that they are the party band. I heard one the other night at a new club that can back up that claim.

Jerry’s Bait Shop, www.jerrysbaitshop.com , 302 SW Main Street, Lee’s Summit, Mo., was packed to standing room only by 8:30 p.m. Many probably didn’t realize that they were about to party with "The Mighty Moe-Joes!",  www.mightymoejoes.com. The band took the stage and immediately electrified the crowd. "The Mighty Moe-Joes!" play a strong mix of songs that make it hard to stay in your seat or stand still if you arrived too late for that seat.

"The Mighty Moe-Joes!" have three lead singers who belt out the vocals, making it possible for them to play a wide variety of songs. Moe-Joe Dennis, lead guitar, is dead-on with his cords and riffs, making you think that the original artist is on stage. Moe-Joe Steve, bass guitar, goes well beyond laying down a bass beat. His bass tempo often drives the songs. Moe-Joe Randy plays the saxophone and flute. Flute? You bet. He can follow a flute solo with a powerful voice that brings "Jethro Tull" and "Men At Work" to the stage. He also puts out a strong sax sound that covers several genres from Blues to Rock.

The drummer for "The Mighty Moe-Joes!" is Moe-Joe Brian. There’s a reason he has a fan blowing on him throughout the show. He plays the skins with an intensity that enhances the strength of the songs being played. He also kicks in on backup vocals.

Moe-Joe Shawn rounds out the group playing trumpet and percussion. His fat horn sound augments the rest of the group and pushes the performance over the edge.

"The Mighty Moe-Joes!" have an extensive list of songs and each set gets more electric as the night goes on. They get the crowd going to the point that it almost appears the crowd is part of the show. They have a unique saying, “Boodadee-Boogadee.” Several times throughout the night, the band invites the crowd to raise a toast and shout out “Boodadee-Boogadee” and then have some refreshment to cool down their vocal cords.

This is a “must-see” band for those wanting to have a great time without having to bounce to several venues to find the band that can get it started and keeping it going. Visit their web site to see the monster list of songs and follow them as they play around the Kansas City area.
